About the position

As a Cloud Developer II in the Platform and Infrastructure team at Google, you will play a crucial role in guiding customers through their cloud journey. This position focuses on providing technical guidance for adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, ensuring secure foundational implementations, and automating infrastructure provisioning. You will collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to enhance Google Cloud products and help businesses leverage cutting-edge technology for digital transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide domain expertise in cloud platforms and infrastructure, solving complex cloud platform challenges.
  • Work with customers to design and implement cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable business objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
  • Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and sample code.
  • Travel up to 30% for in-region meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning, DevOps, continuous integration, or delivery.
  • Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience building prototypes or applications.
  • Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Knowledge of standard IT security practices, including identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.
  • Knowledge of GCP techniques such as dual encoders, and embedding vectors.
