About the position

As a Cloud Developer II in the Platform and Infrastructure team at Google, you will provide technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. Your role will involve designing and implementing cloud-based architectures, automating infrastructure provisioning, and ensuring best practices for secure cloud implementations. You will work closely with customers to help them modernize and maintain their applications in GCP, while also collaborating with Product Management and Engineering teams to enhance Google Cloud products and features.

Responsibilities

  • Provide domain expertise in cloud platforms and infrastructure, solving complex cloud platform challenges.
  • Work with customers to design and implement cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable business objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
  • Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and sample code.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning, DevOps, continuous integration, or delivery.
  • Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience building prototypes or applications.
  • Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Knowledge of standard IT security practices, including identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.
  • Knowledge of GCP techniques such as dual encoders, and embedding vectors.
