About the position

The Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Developer role at Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services involves providing technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. The position focuses on helping businesses transform through cloud technology, ensuring secure implementations, and optimizing cloud architectures. The developer will work closely with customers to deliver best practices and support them in their cloud journey, while also collaborating with Product Management and Engineering teams to enhance Google Cloud products.

Responsibilities

• Provide domain expertise in cloud platforms and infrastructure; solving complex cloud platform challenges.
• Work with customers to design and implement cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable business objectives.
• Be a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
• Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and sample code.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning, DevOps, continuous integration, or delivery.
• Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion.
• Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience building prototypes or applications.
• Experience with GCP techniques such as prompt developing, dual encoders, and embedding vectors.
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.
