About the position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Developer to join our Professional Services team, specifically focusing on the U.S. Intelligence Community. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in cloud computing to help these agencies implement innovative solutions and address complex technical challenges. You will be responsible for guiding clients through application architectures and integration strategies, ensuring that projects are set on a path to success from the outset. Your familiarity with security best practices for applications, servers, and networks will be crucial in this position, as you will be working with sensitive information and systems. As a Cloud Developer at AWS, you will engage in a variety of projects that require collaboration across the AWS organization. This includes working closely with product and service teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients. You will be part of a dynamic and creative team that values hard work and fun, embodying our credo of "Work hard. Have fun. Make history." Your passion for educating and training clients will be essential as you design and build cloud solutions for a diverse set of Intelligence Community customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale computing solutions, with previous experience as a systems or support engineer. You will be expected to continuously hone your technical skills and participate in deep-dive education and design exercises, contributing to innovative solutions built on AWS. This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, and candidates must be willing to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency they work with.

Responsibilities

  • Implement innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Intelligence Community agencies.
  • Educate and train clients on application architectures and integration approaches.
  • Collaborate with AWS product and service teams to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions on AWS.
  • Maintain and enhance technical skills to contribute to architecture discussions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications or equivalent education experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with software development tools and methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  • Experience in technology/software sales consulting or equivalent skills.
  • Professional experience architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • Experience migrating or transforming Legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Experience managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, server hardware, and storage.
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
