About the position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking highly talented and technical consultants to join our Professional Services team, focusing on innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Intelligence Community agencies. In this role, you will leverage the latest cloud technologies to solve complex technical problems and help these agencies understand application architectures and integration approaches. Your consultative and leadership skills will be crucial in launching projects that are set on a trajectory to success. You will be part of a dynamic team that collaborates across the entire AWS organization, ensuring that we deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovation based on customer needs. As a consultant, you will engage in a variety of projects, providing your expertise to help our customers and partners achieve their goals. You will be responsible for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by Intelligence Community customers. This position requires a strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions, and you will regularly participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions built on AWS. The ideal candidate will have a background as a systems or support engineer, with a passion for keeping technical skills sharp and developing new ones. You will be expected to maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, and you must be willing to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which you perform AWS work. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Intelligence Community agencies.
  • Educate and train customers on application architectures and integration approaches.
  • Collaborate with AWS teams to deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovation based on customer needs.
  • Participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions built on AWS.
  • Maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and opt into additional clearances as required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications or equivalent education experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with software development tools and methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  • Experience in technology/software sales consulting or equivalent skills.
  • Professional experience architecting, deploying, and operating solutions built on AWS.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Experience managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, server hardware, and storage.
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
