About the position

As a Cloud Developer within the ProServe Variable WWPS team at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will play a pivotal role in assisting U.S. Intelligence Community agencies in implementing innovative cloud computing solutions. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about leveraging the latest cloud technologies to solve complex technical problems. You will be responsible for guiding these agencies in understanding application architectures and integration approaches, utilizing your consultative and leadership skills to ensure project success. Your expertise in security best practices for applications, servers, and networks will be crucial in this role. In this dynamic environment, you will collaborate with a diverse team of highly talented technical consultants, contributing to a wide variety of projects that aim to deliver exceptional results for our customers. The AWS Professional Services team is dedicated to providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base, ensuring that we are obsessed with achieving strong success for our clients. You will have the opportunity to work closely with product and service teams across AWS, driving feature innovation based on customer needs and delivering the right solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions and have prior experience as a systems or support engineer. You will be encouraged to continuously hone your technical skills and develop new ones, participating in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions built on AWS. This role requires a proactive and creative mindset, as you will be expected to take on challenges and make a significant impact within the organization. Additionally, you will need to maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, as this is a requirement for working with government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist U.S. Intelligence Community agencies in implementing cloud computing solutions.
  • Guide customers in understanding application architectures and integration approaches.
  • Utilize consultative and leadership skills to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with AWS product and service teams to deliver the right solutions.
  • Participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions.
  • Maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications or equivalent education experience.
  • 1+ years of software development tools and methodologies.
  • 3+ years working with Python.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking.
  • Experience in technology/software sales consulting or equivalent skills.
  • Professional experience architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • Experience migrating or transforming Legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Experience managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, server hardware and storage.
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA and FedRAMP.
