About the position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Cloud Developer to join our Professional Services team, focusing on the U.S. Intelligence Community. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and address complex technical challenges. You will work closely with various agencies, helping them understand application architectures and integration approaches while utilizing the latest cloud technologies. Your consultative and leadership skills will be essential in launching projects that are set on a trajectory for success. As a member of our team, you will engage in a variety of projects, drawing on collective experiences from across the AWS customer base. Our team is dedicated to ensuring strong success for our customers, collaborating with the entire AWS organization to deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovation based on customer needs. You will be part of a dynamic and creative environment where you will be encouraged to take on challenges and make a significant impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions and experience as a systems or support engineer. You will be expected to keep your technical skills sharp and develop new ones, contributing to deep architecture discussions and participating in design exercises to create innovative solutions built on AWS. This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, and you must be willing to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which you perform AWS work.

Responsibilities

  • Implement innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Intelligence Community agencies.
  • Educate and train customers on application architectures and integration approaches.
  • Collaborate with AWS teams to deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovation.
  • Participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions on AWS.
  • Maintain and develop technical skills to contribute to architecture discussions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications or equivalent education experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with software development tools and methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  • Experience in technology/software sales consulting or equivalent skills.
  • Professional experience architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • Experience migrating or transforming Legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Experience managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, server hardware, and storage.
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
