About the position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Developer to join our Professional Services team, specifically focusing on the U.S. Intelligence Community. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in cloud computing to help these agencies implement innovative solutions and address complex technical challenges. You will be responsible for guiding clients through application architectures and integration strategies, ensuring that projects are set on a path to success from the outset. Your familiarity with security best practices for applications, servers, and networks will be crucial in this position, as you will be working with sensitive information and systems. As a Cloud Developer at AWS, you will collaborate with a diverse team of talented engineers and consultants, contributing to a variety of projects that aim to enhance the capabilities of our clients. You will engage with customers to educate them on cloud solutions, design and build applications tailored to their needs, and participate in deep-dive discussions to foster innovation. Your role will not only involve technical implementation but also require strong consultative and leadership skills to ensure that our clients achieve their desired outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Implement innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Intelligence Community agencies.
  • Educate and train clients on application architectures and integration approaches.
  • Collaborate with AWS teams to deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovation based on customer needs.
  • Participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions on AWS.
  • Maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and comply with security requirements for government work.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications or equivalent education experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with software development tools and methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  • Experience in technology/software sales consulting or equivalent skills.
  • Professional experience architecting, deploying, and operating solutions built on AWS.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Experience managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, server hardware, and storage.
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
