About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior-level Cloud Developer to join a dedicated team supporting government customers. This role involves designing and implementing cloud service delivery models and architectural frameworks, enabling various service models such as PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS. The developer will also focus on automation, application migration, and ensuring a secure cloud environment while working independently on software products and enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud service delivery models and architectural frameworks for PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS.
• Implement automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps best practices.
• Analyze applications to identify migration opportunities to cloud environments.
• Provide strategies for failure/recovery, cost optimization, and benefit analyses of cloud services.
• Develop and implement cloud applications and migrate existing on-premises applications to the cloud.
• Debug cloud stacks and manage policies for cloud service usage.
• Establish a secure cloud environment and ensure appropriate availability/uptime design.
• Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud development or related fields.
• Comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
• Ability to plan and lead major technology assignments.
• Evaluate performance results and recommend changes affecting project growth and success.
• Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Terraform
• Knowledge of Databricks and Lakehouse Architecture
• Familiarity with Splunk
• Proficiency in Oracle/SQL
