About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior-level Cloud Developer to support government customers by designing and implementing cloud service delivery models and architectural frameworks. This role involves developing PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS solutions, automating cloud resources, and providing strategic recommendations for cloud migration and optimization. The position offers an opportunity to work independently on software development and enhancements while contributing to national security and critical infrastructure protection.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud service delivery models and architectural frameworks for PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS.
• Implement automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps best practices.
• Analyze applications to identify migration and deployment opportunities in cloud environments.
• Provide strategies for failure/recovery, cost optimization, and benefit analyses of cloud services.
• Develop and implement cloud applications, migrating existing on-premises applications to the cloud.
• Debug cloud stacks and manage policies for cloud service usage.
• Establish a secure cloud environment ensuring appropriate availability and uptime design.
• Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud development or related fields.
• Expertise in cloud technologies and architectures, including PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS.
• Strong knowledge of automation tools and DevSecOps practices.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and VBA.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and tools such as Splunk and Elasticsearch.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Apache Niagra Falls (NiFi) and Apache TIKA.
• Familiarity with AWS SQS and Databricks Lakehouse Architecture.
• Knowledge of Oracle/SQL databases.
