About the position

The Cloud Developer at Glow Networks is responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based solutions, focusing on building vendor-agnostic SaaS products. This role requires extensive experience in software development, particularly with Java and Spring Boot, and involves working with microservices architectures deployed in Kubernetes. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system designs, optimize development strategies, and ensure the scalability of applications in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture and underlying system design for scalable platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to identify problems and explore solutions.
• Design new workflows and identify gaps to build efficient processes.
• Produce software artifacts and deliver high-quality software for production.
• Solicit and provide feedback from a wide range of stakeholders.
• Work with geographically diversified teams to execute projects.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software development, particularly with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles and processes.
• Strong skills in critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving.
• Experience in building cloud vendor agnostic SaaS products.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot microservices, and Kubernetes.
• In-depth understanding of microservices architectures and cloud technologies (public/private/hybrid).
• Experience with building APIs/services using message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, NATS) and caching solutions (Redis, Memcached).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with OAuth, OpenID, and SAML based authentication.
• Familiarity with OpenStack and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
