About the position

PayPal is seeking a Senior Cloud Developer to design, implement, and manage its Public Cloud Infrastructure platform. This role involves collaborating with internal customers to enable their Public Cloud integrations and working with cutting-edge technologies in GCP and AWS. The developer will utilize programming languages such as GoLang and Python to create automated solutions for managing the cloud infrastructure, ensuring a seamless experience for internal engineering teams as they migrate to the Public Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage PayPal's Public Cloud Infrastructure platform.
• Collaborate with internal customers to enable their Public Cloud integrations.
• Develop automated solutions using GoLang, Python, and scripting languages for managing cloud infrastructure.
• Utilize cloud infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, and Puppet to deploy infrastructure builds and CI/CD pipelines.
• Support Kubernetes platforms like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
• Triage issues in the Public Cloud environment, analyze root causes, and implement fixes.
• Work across internal engineering teams and product managers globally to enhance customer experience in Public Cloud usage.
• Drive software solutions from design through to release, ensuring high-quality software analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Developer/Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of Public Cloud technologies and tools for building scalable solutions in GCP and AWS.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as GoLang, Python, and Bash scripting.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, Jenkins, and Puppet.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes platforms.

Nice-to-haves

• A Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required.
