Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support a critical cloud program for the Defense Logistics Agency in Ft. Belvoir, VA. The ideal candidate will be a skilled cloud engineer with experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and will be responsible for delivering technical solutions for the DoD agency. This role involves building and unit testing customer components that support cloud architecture and applications. The position requires an active Secret clearance and offers a hybrid work schedule, with 2-3 days on-site at Ft. Belvoir, VA, during standard operating hours from 8 AM to 4 PM. As a Cloud Engineer, you will resolve software-related problems and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. You will act as a team leader on various projects and participate in development activities. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, implementing, and conforming to enterprise cloud architecture application solutions, strategies, processes, and standards, with a focus on cloud technologies. You will collaborate with business owners, analysts, engineers, development teams, and infrastructure services to define and communicate application and data architecture standards, policies, and directions. In this role, you will analyze user needs and design software for client use, developing code and software applications based on user specifications. You will also modify existing software to correct errors or improve performance, monitor, and assist with software testing and validation procedures. Additionally, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced data collection and ingestion frameworks using Pixel hardware with Doc AI, ensuring the capture of high-quality, actionable data. You will architect and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines and storage solutions with BigQuery, optimizing for efficiency and cost. Furthermore, you will develop sophisticated data models and algorithms to support analytics, machine learning projects, and business intelligence efforts, continuously evaluating and adopting new technologies within the Google Cloud Platform to enhance data capabilities. Finally, you will design and implement robust API management and data orchestration strategies using Apigee, enhancing data connectivity and integration with diverse systems, both internal and external.
