At SAP Sovereign Cloud Technology & Delivery, we are defining the future of deploying and running SAP cloud solutions on sovereign cloud infrastructure for public sector and regulated industries with unparalleled security, compliance, and scale. This is where innovation meets execution, and we are looking for a stellar Development Manager with a strong engineering focus to be part of our journey, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. As a Development Manager in our team, you will play a vital role in defining the process, architecture, and execution of onboarding additional SAP cloud products into the Sovereign Cloud portfolio. This includes engagement with Line of Business (LoB) product owners, architects, developers, and operators, jointly preparing and executing the initial delivery of the SAP product into our production locations. To achieve these goals, you will be responsible for the performance and effectiveness of a diverse and highly functional team of professionals, spanning across multiple SAP locations in the US, Canada, Germany, and Portugal, and spanning across multiple roles and functions like DevOps engineers, infrastructure experts, technical product managers, architects, project managers, and technical documentation experts. Your key responsibilities include accelerating the onboarding process of additional SAP products into the Sovereign Cloud portfolio while establishing co-ownership of the end-to-end product pipeline between commercial cloud development and our engineering units, further standardizing and establishing scaling models for product onboarding into SAP Sovereign Cloud, enabling new deployment options, and accelerating the efficiency of setting up new Sovereign Cloud locations. You will also be responsible for closing the time lag between the availability of commercial and Sovereign Cloud product versions, building healthy cross-relationships to architects, product owners, and engineers of other SAP products and areas, and fostering performance and collaboration of a virtual team of professionals. Living people management in all dimensions, including goal setting, feedback, coaching, conflict management, hiring, and team building, is also a critical aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerating the onboarding process of additional SAP products into the Sovereign Cloud portfolio while establishing co-ownership of the end-to-end product pipeline between commercial cloud development and our engineering units.
  • Further standardizing and establishing scaling models for product onboarding into SAP Sovereign Cloud.
  • Enabling new deployment options, e.g. onto Azure, GCP, or SAP Converged Cloud.
  • Accelerating the efficiency of setting up new Sovereign Cloud locations.
  • Closing the time lag between the availability of commercial and Sovereign Cloud product versions.
  • Building healthy cross-relationships to architects, product owners, and engineers of other SAP products and areas, including SAP Ariba, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Business AI, SAP DataSphere, and SAP Cloud ALM.
  • Fostering performance and collaboration of a virtual team of professionals.
  • Living people management in all dimensions, including goal setting, feedback, coaching, conflict management, hiring, and team building.

Requirements

  • Strong technology skills and excellent deep technical knowledge of SAP products.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP and the SAP solution portfolio.
