About the position

The Cloud DevOps Automation Engineer with Cloud Database Experience (PostgreSQL) is responsible for automating cloud databases and creating workflows for granular backups within AWS environments. This role requires strong DevOps experience, particularly with AWS services, and the ability to write scripts for database management. The engineer will also propose solutions leveraging AWS serverless technologies and optimize database solutions for availability, cost, and performance.

Responsibilities

• 5+ years DevOps experience with AWS Cloud services with strong familiarity with automating cloud databases like AWS RDS PostgreSQL and AWS Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Ability to write scripts (e.g. in Python) to create snapshots of specific databases within an RDS instance and for rehydrating those snapshots in other DB instances.
• Create mechanisms and workflows for doing granular backups of specific databases within an RDS/AURORA instance and allow for rehydrating those backups.
• Work in GitOps pipelines and develop automation approaches.
• Propose solutions that leverage AWS serverless solutions and help design database solutions that optimize availability, cost, and performance.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps with AWS Cloud services.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong familiarity with automating cloud databases like AWS RDS PostgreSQL and AWS Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Ability to write scripts in Python for database management.
