About the position

The DevOps Engineer position focuses on leveraging OpenShift and Windriver Cloud technologies to enhance automation and testing processes within the Verizon infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of VCP test cases related to OpenShift and F5 products, including SPK and Aspen Mesh. The selected candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing guidance and support to existing automation teams to ensure the successful implementation and execution of test cases. The position is hybrid, requiring the candidate to be local to Richardson, TX, Ashburn, VA, or Tampa, FL, and involves a contract duration of over two years. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues related to cloud deployments and automation. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of testing frameworks and methodologies, ensuring that all testing processes are efficient and effective. The position demands a strong background in Python programming and familiarity with tools such as GitLab and Jenkins to facilitate continuous integration and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will possess relevant certifications, including Windriver Cloud Certification, Kubernetes (CKAD), or OpenShift Certification, and will have experience with unit testing frameworks such as unit test, robot framework, or pytest. This role is critical in supporting the VCP and enhancing the overall cloud infrastructure at Verizon, making it essential for the candidate to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Experience with GitLab and Jenkins.

Nice-to-haves

  • Windriver Cloud Certification or Kubernetes (CKAD) or OpenShift Certification or VCP Certification is highly preferred.
