About the position

The Cloud Efficiency & Optimization Integration Engineer I is responsible for enhancing the performance and efficiency of integration services within a government agency's public-facing Marketplace hosted on AWS. This role involves optimizing over 70 web services and applications, ensuring robust security, and supporting the agency's mission through seamless system operations and future scalability. The engineer will collaborate with multiple vendors and internal teams to align integration efforts with agency objectives and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to align integration efforts with agency objectives.
  • Analyze and design cloud architecture to enhance service and application integration.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure system requirements support seamless operations.
  • Lead the integration of new services, applications, and APIs within AWS infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot workflow issues, implementing corrective actions for efficiency.
  • Optimize cloud resources for cost-effectiveness, performance, and security.
  • Automate tasks using tools like AWS Lambda and CloudFormation.
  • Work with internal teams and vendors to achieve seamless API and application integration.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to align integration goals.
  • Conduct security assessments to ensure compliance with IAM, VPC, and encryption protocols.
  • Collaborate on data governance and security policy maintenance.
  • Lead change management initiatives to adopt new cloud technologies and processes.
  • Document architectural designs and integration methodologies for compliance.
  • Prepare reports on system performance, vendor contributions, and optimization efforts.
  • Provide technical leadership in architecture and integration design discussions.
  • Train and mentor team members on cloud technologies and optimization strategies.
  • Participate in strategic planning for future cloud capabilities and expansions.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience is required.
  • 7 years of overall IT experience is required.
  • Experience with cloud architecture design (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with system integration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with security assessment and risk management.
  • Experience with API integration and management.
  • Experience with strategic planning and resource management.
  • Experience with project management and collaboration with stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.
  • Knowledge of machine learning in cloud environments.
  • Agile methodologies and government contracting experience.
  • A Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification is preferred.
