About the position

The Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role in migrating a blockchain node from an internal cloud environment to a public cloud platform, specifically AWS or Azure. This position requires collaboration with the cloud engineering team and direct reporting to the hiring manager. The role involves assessing the current setup, developing a migration plan, automating the deployment process, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance in the new environment. Documentation and knowledge transfer to the team are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess the current blockchain node running in the internal cloud.
• Develop a migration plan to transition the blockchain node to a public cloud platform (AWS or Azure).
• Leverage deployment technologies such as CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, or Kubernetes to automate the migration and deployment process.
• Collaborate with the cloud engineering team to ensure a smooth transition and integration with existing cloud infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the migration process.
• Optimize the performance and scalability of the blockchain node in the public cloud.
• Document the migration process and provide knowledge transfer to the cloud engineering team.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with expertise in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience migrating from private cloud to public cloud.
• Proficiency in using deployment technologies like CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Git and GitLab.
• Familiarity in designing, developing and testing software in either Java, Javascript, Python or GoLang.
• Knowledge of the financial services industry is preferred but not required.
