About the position

MAG Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer (DevOps) to join their team in Ft. Liberty, NC. This role focuses on advancing technology that supports core defense and intelligence services. The Cloud Engineer will collaborate with a diverse team to manage and automate platform services, ensuring system security and reliability while providing technical guidance and support.

Responsibilities

  • Automate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services.
  • Manage system tuning for reliability and efficiency.
  • Guide and manage software releases for new features.
  • Perform administrative operations of server hardware and software.
  • Ensure system security and execute practices and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot system-related problems.
  • Stay current with operating systems/software analysis and technological developments.
  • Recommend future direction or projects to management.
  • Provide expertise in the development or modification of software programs and applications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of agile development process.
  • In-depth understanding of DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-T.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools like Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity.
  • Experience with networking technologies (e.g., load balancing, DNS, SSL, firewalls, NAT, SDN).
  • Experience using Git.
  • Experience in release management.
  • Experience supporting production systems using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Good written and technical briefing skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized; able to ensure accuracy of work.
  • Provides technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers.
  • A degree in a STEM-related field of study.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II required.

Nice-to-haves

  • DOD 8570 IAT Level III
  • Experience in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and OpenStack.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Chef, Ansible, BOSH, or related automation/orchestration tools.
  • Experience with platform as a service products like Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk.
  • Experience working with DNS, NTP, SAML, OAuth 2, Active Directory.
  • Understanding of systems monitoring and analytics tools.
