About the position

The Cloud Engineer II role at NovaSource Power Services is focused on the administration, security, and maintenance of Azure-based cloud computing platforms. This position involves planning, executing, and documenting systems-related work and improvements, utilizing agile methodologies and DevOps best practices. The engineer will serve as a technical resource across teams, collaborating with IT/OT teams to enhance service delivery and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Design and create Azure Cloud platform and resources (Windows and Linux).
• Administer Azure Cloud platform and resources (Windows and Linux).
• Design and administer Azure Cloud backup and disaster recovery (Windows and Linux).
• Ensure Azure Cloud platform security, including alerting and monitoring.
• Automate processes and analyze resource costs at the tenant level and below.
• Identify areas for improvement and efficiencies across cloud platforms and resources.
• Maintain accurate documentation of environments and work performed.
• Collaborate with Technology Operations Teams and stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service.
• Assist IT Leadership in strategic planning for cloud platforms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in Azure-based systems design, networking, security, and administration.
• 2 years of experience in Azure-based architecture administration, implementation, and improvement, including patching and endpoint security.
• 2 years of experience in Azure-based cloud backup and disaster recovery design, implementation, and administration.
• 2 years of experience in automated systems monitoring/alerting and escalation design, implementation, and administration.
• 2 years of experience with PowerShell and Power Automate for task automation scripting.
• Excellent analytical, organization, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Related current Azure certifications.
• Availability for night, weekend, and on-call duties as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• More than 2 years of experience in the required criteria.
• Experience in hybrid cloud design, networking, security, backup, and administration.
• Cloud software development and automation scripting experience (including .NET, Python, JSON, YAML).
• Experience in cloud network design, implementation, and administration.
• CI/CD pipeline architecture, implementation, and improvement experience in Azure DevOps.
• Experience in cloud-based database design, configuration, and administration.
• Experience with microservices and container orchestration (Kubernetes focused).
• NOC/Datacenter experience.
• AWS (Amazon Web Services) administration experience.
