About the position

As a Cloud Engineer II at Chewy, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, testing, and deploying solutions for our hyper-scale cloud platform, which is integral to our path-to-purchase systems. This position is based in Plantation, Florida, and offers the flexibility of telecommuting. You will be responsible for delivering solutions that are not only simple and scalable but also maintainable and repeatable. Your work will empower internal customers by developing self-service solutions that allow them to move rapidly while leveraging Chewy's platform. In this role, you will participate in cloud readiness assessments, workshops, and roadmap activities, focusing on application modernization as we transition towards a cloud-native service architecture. You will also create automated solutions to monitor and support our public cloud platform, emphasizing self-healing systems to enhance our software development and release processes. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring that our cloud infrastructure is robust and efficient, supporting the dynamic needs of our business.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver solutions that are simple, scalable, maintainable, and repeatable.
  • Develop self-service solutions to empower internal customers.
  • Participate in cloud readiness assessments, workshops, and application modernization activities.
  • Create automated solutions to monitor and support the public cloud platform.
  • Emphasize self-healing systems in software development and release processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in relevant fields.
  • 2 years of experience in public cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience in DevOps, Software Development, Site Reliability, and Systems Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python, Ansible, or similar technologies for large scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment.
  • Familiarity with Terraform and/or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience in developing highly-available and geographically diverse systems.
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum and/or Kanban methodologies.
  • AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification.
