About the position

As a Cloud Engineer Lead at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will play a pivotal role in managing, administering, supporting, and enhancing cloud environments. Your primary focus will be on ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution within these environments. You will apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts to contribute to the development of new principles and concepts, tackling unusually complex problems and providing highly innovative solutions. This position operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision-making, allowing you to take initiative and lead projects effectively. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor or supervise employees, enhancing both their firm and technical competencies. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in cloud engineering, particularly with designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Your expertise in DevOps practices, including the implementation and management of continuous integration and delivery pipelines, will be crucial. You will utilize tools like Terraform and AWS Cloud Formation, as well as container management technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. A solid understanding of the services offered by AWS, Azure, and GCP is essential, along with the ability to maintain security standards and compliance with industry regulations in the cloud environment. This position requires a proactive approach to automating cloud operations using scripting languages like Python or PowerShell, and you will be expected to display a portfolio of relevant cloud projects or contributions to open-source projects. Collaboration within a team is key, and you will be encouraged to work closely with colleagues to achieve common goals. The role also requires a Secret clearance, and you will have the opportunity to travel up to 20% of the time, enhancing your professional experience and exposure to various projects.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in cloud engineering.
  • Experience with designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience in DevOps, implementing and managing continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Experience with using tools, including Terraform and AWS Cloud Formation.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container management.
  • Knowledge of services offered by AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical field.
  • IAT Level II Certification.
