About the position

The Cloud Engineer will work closely with the other cloud engineers and developers in the team to improve Kubernetes components and applications across multiple clusters and troubleshoot issues as needed. This role will play a consultative role and collaborate with the security and development teams. The Cloud Engineer will administrate our Kubernetes clusters and their lifecycle, ensuring a high degree of reliability, security, scalability, and confidence at any given time. Responsibilities include providing support, improving, and implementing Kubernetes internal components and applications on top of multiple clusters, troubleshooting and triaging issues, and working closely with various teams across the organization for any AWS infrastructure requests. The role also involves embracing reliability constraints, contributing improvements to the platform, implementing best practice policies, adapting to various technologies, and participating in a shared on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Administrate Kubernetes clusters and their lifecycle.
  • Provide support, improve, and implement Kubernetes internal components and applications.
  • Troubleshoot and triage issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams for AWS infrastructure requests.
  • Embrace reliability constraints and contribute improvements to the platform.
  • Implement best practice policies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting network, DNS, and storage issues.
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation.
  • Contribute to team knowledge by adding to the team wiki pages.

Requirements

  • 2 - 5+ years of experience in infrastructure design/implementation.
  • Strong experience with identifying and remediating Kubernetes vulnerabilities.
  • Strong implementation experience in AWS services (e.g., EC2, ECS, ELB, RDS, EFS, EBS, Route53, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, S3).
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and operations.
  • Experience in container platform infrastructure in AWS (EKS, ECS, Fargate).
  • Clear understanding of container technologies and the tools/challenges around them.
  • Ability to code/script in Python/Shell/PowerShell.
  • Experience managing and administering Linux/Windows based systems.
  • AWS Cloud Formation knowledge (YAML and/or JSON).
  • Systems monitoring experience (Prometheus, Grafana preferred).
  • Experience working with GitHub and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in Azure Cloud administration (preferred).
  • Experience delivering projects via Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
