About the position

The Cloud Engineer position is responsible for the design, installation, configuration, operation, and administration of a highly available hybrid cloud environment. This role involves working within an agile shared services team to enable stable infrastructure for applications and maintain repeatable processes through automation. The candidate will apply knowledge of hybrid cloud technologies to meet business needs and provide third-tier support for issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Establish, monitor, and maintain Azure cloud environment, systems hardware, operating systems, and related network and security infrastructure.
• Monitor Azure maintenance and outages, assess impact, and develop strategies to minimize impact.
• Collaborate with developers and scrum teams on compute resource needs expansion or new feature deployment.
• Build and automate cloud infrastructure using current methods, templates, and automation toolsets.
• Optimize network infrastructure for IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, and other cloud applications.
• Produce and maintain documentation for installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Research connectivity, performance, and related security issues to determine root cause and implement a resolution plan.
• Participate in design and implementation of architectural roadmaps regarding Hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Design technical infrastructure cloud processes and integrate solutions into existing infrastructure.
• Coordinate with service providers, vendors, and various teams to ensure timely resolution of infrastructure-related issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation and be available for special duties outside normal working hours.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in computer science or similar field required.
• 5+ years progressive working in computing or network infrastructure.
• 1-2+ years' experience in a cloud environment, preferably Azure as a cloud network engineer, administrator, and/or DevOps role.
• Demonstrated experience building and operating cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in automation (Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration-as-Code) and management of both on-premises infrastructure and applications.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms and tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Azure Dev Ops or similar.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and DevOps processes.
• Experience with load balancing platforms.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2016/2012.
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (Azure or AWS).
• Experience with securing and monitoring cloud resources.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Experience with Cisco Route/Switch platforms.
• Experience with Palo Alto or related cloud-based firewall technologies.
