About the position

As an FBI Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of complex systems through advanced cloud engineering and cybersecurity practices. Your expertise in cloud platforms and solutions will help safeguard vital information for the FBI, driving modernization and efficiency in their operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and cloud-based solutions.
  • Drive the appropriate usage of 'as a service' offerings to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Modernize scientific workloads within the forensic laboratory to ensure compatibility with cloud environments.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of microservices architecture and design principles for building scalable cloud applications.
  • Implement Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) practices and tools for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Provide serverless capabilities leveraging AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or similar technologies.
  • Design and build cloud solutions on FEDRAMP Cloud environments including AWS, Azure, Oracle, and GCP.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations, managing and optimizing cloud architecture for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable and reliable cloud-based systems.
  • Implement security measures and compliance standards across cloud environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior cloud engineers.
  • Develop and update Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision and support cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance.
  • GS 11: At least one year of experience equivalent to GS 09 level, utilizing established automation methodologies and technologies.
  • GS 12: At least one year of experience equivalent to GS 11 level, applying automation solutions such as CI/CD pipelines.
  • GS 13: At least one year of experience equivalent to GS 12 level, designing and implementing automation solutions and managing cloud architecture.
  • GS 14: At least one year of experience equivalent to GS 13 level, conducting research and serving as technical lead on cloud infrastructure projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification and/or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and/or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator.
  • Experience with RedHat Operating System Management.
  • Bash / Python / Perl Scripting skills.
  • Ansible Automation Platform and Configuration Management for Linux.
