About the position

The Cloud Engineer position at a major bank in New York City is a permanent full-time role at the VP level, focusing on Microsoft Azure cloud computing. The successful candidate will be responsible for automating, deploying, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud solutions, while collaborating with various teams to optimize cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain secure and reliable cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
• Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
• Collaborate with various infrastructure and development teams on evaluating and implementing optimal cloud solutions.
• Provide day-to-day cloud support to a diverse user base.
• Assist in the documentation of cloud infrastructure and processes.
• Keep abreast of latest trends and developments in the cloud computing space.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience related to cloud computing or cloud platforms (Azure is a must, AWS/GCP preferred).
• Basic understanding of database technologies and networking concepts in the cloud.
• Knowledge of Python and Bash/PowerShell for integration and automation work.
• Knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform preferred) and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes (Preferred).
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Good communication skills and a passion for learning.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with additional programming languages or automation tools.
