About the position

The Cloud ETL QA Tester role is focused on ensuring the quality and performance of data-centric projects, particularly in ETL/ELT testing within a cloud environment. The position requires extensive experience in data testing, leadership capabilities, and proficiency in various Azure tools and data management practices. The role is primarily based in Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid work schedule of three days on-site and two days remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead the QA testing efforts for ETL/ELT processes in a cloud environment.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data-centric projects.
• Provide data quality reports and performance tuning recommendations using ETL tools like SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality standards are met.
• Conduct functional and non-functional testing, including unit testing and integration testing.
• Utilize SQL and Python for test validation and analysis.
• Monitor and audit data quality throughout the ETL processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience as a QA/Tester with a focus on data-centric projects.
• At least 2 years of experience in a lead role.
• Strong hands-on experience in ETL/ELT testing using tools such as SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
• Proficiency in SQL and data querying for test validation and analysis.
• Experience with Azure services, particularly in data-heavy applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, and Azure Databricks.
• Experience with Python/PySpark and Logic Apps.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or SAFe.
