About the position

The Cloud FinOps Portfolio Intake Lead at PayPal plays a crucial role in overseeing the Public Cloud Intake process, interfacing with internal customers, and guiding Public Cloud requests and use cases through the Intake to "Go Live" journey. This position combines both strategic and tactical responsibilities in multi-cloud financial management, focusing on cloud cost optimization, technical efficiency efforts, end-to-end automation, and the adoption and maturation of Cloud FinOps practices. The role is pivotal in driving cost optimization and capacity planning efforts at scale across multiple Cloud domains, engaging various engineering teams in comprehensive capacity planning efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for the Cloud FinOps Governance practice, specifically focusing on driving Cloud FinOps Portfolio Intake across all three Cloud Service Providers (CSPs): Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure. You will take direct responsibility for the end-to-end Intake process, which includes reviewing cloud use cases by evaluating their technical, financial, compliance, and security components. You will manage materiality procedures and workflows in collaboration with security and international business officers, monitor and track progress through key performance indicators, dashboards, and tooling, and create user stories for developers to automate processes and build out the intake workflow. Additionally, you will compile cloud costs with finance teams to manage funding approvals and forecasts for cloud use cases, manage the PayPal Cloud Register to ensure all entries are timely and accurate, and facilitate communication channels for complex use cases with enterprise stakeholders and leadership. You will also work closely with the cloud security organization to enable foundational cloud services and collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate technical dependencies for cloud use cases. Your input will be vital in the build-out of cloud service blueprints and architecture, and you will work closely with the FinOps Governance Leader on iterative process improvement and governance initiatives, focusing on ongoing efficiency and velocity improvement for the Intake process, as well as reporting of KPIs and metrics.
