About the position

GDIT is seeking a Software Developer to support a federal mission client in delivering identity and network-based intelligence insights to counter national security threats. The role involves crafting, testing, and implementing scalable software solutions in a cloud environment, with a focus on automating analytical processes and enhancing data sharing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Employ software development techniques to solve analytical challenges related to national security.
• Automate manual analytical processes using software development skills.
• Expand specializations to include front-end user interfaces, back-end microservices, web services, and cloud architectures.
• Deploy IT solutions, user applications, databases, and other capabilities.
• Design and develop specialized user solutions and applications using a hybrid Agile approach within a DevOps environment.
• Provide Tier 3 technical support for deployed applications and databases.
• Maintain code integrity and organization, collaborating with the engineering team to design and launch new features.

Requirements

• 5+ years of related experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
• Understanding of cloud architectures and enabling tools, such as AWS Cloud.
• Experience with code versioning tools like Git.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodology.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Lambda.
• Experience with automated testing patterns and tools like Mocha/Chai and JUnit.
• Specialization in Object Oriented Programming languages and databases.
• Familiarity with public keys and digital certificates.
