About the position

The Cloud Information Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the secure operations of cloud infrastructure, platforms, and software. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and improvement of cloud computing environments, as well as the development of security strategies for cloud-based and hybrid applications. The engineer leads the implementation of proactive security controls, conducts research on security threats, and provides updates to leadership regarding security protocols. The position requires collaboration with various teams to enhance security measures and ensure compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess existing infrastructure and identify threats.
  • Provide recommendations on new infrastructure and threat modeling to assist in stakeholder decisions.
  • Develop, operate, maintain, and support a secure cloud environment with various technologies.
  • Monitor for and respond to incidents in cloud environments.
  • Keep cloud infrastructure current and continually improve cloud security technologies.
  • Analyze, design, and develop programs, shell scripts, tests, and infrastructure automation capabilities.
  • Develop security standards in partnership with Engineering, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development.
  • Represent the cloud security team in change control activities and ensure alignment with security best practices.
  • Stay updated with security standards and emerging vulnerabilities/threats.
  • Engage in digital forensics to investigate breaches or security incidents in the cloud.
  • Collaborate with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Teams to develop and refine disaster recovery plans for cloud environments.
  • Empower the Security Compliance and Data Protection Team to audit cloud environments and improve security posture using metrics and KPIs.
  • Establish and maintain a feedback mechanism for refining security measures.
  • Participate in incident response activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in designing, deploying, and operating secure cloud solutions.
  • Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management, Cloud Workload Management, SaaS Security Posture Management, Cloud Network Security, Cloud Native Application Protection, and Cloud Identity Security.
  • Deep technical knowledge of on-prem Data Center technologies and Cloud Service Providers.
  • Experience writing formal security assessments and ad-hoc security reports.
  • Experience working as part of a security incident response team.
  • Experience delivering security metrics to demonstrate operational security posture.
  • Experience in data protection and privacy management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in network design, mobile security, network and firewall security technologies, SaaS/PaaS Security, vulnerability management, or penetration testing.
  • Multiple language abilities preferred.
