About the position

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, also known as The Cloud Builder, is responsible for designing and managing robust cloud infrastructures that empower applications to scale seamlessly and perform optimally. This role involves collaborating with developers, DevOps engineers, and IT specialists to create high-performing cloud environments that align with business objectives and support dynamic workloads. The engineer will utilize their expertise in cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, and system optimization to maintain reliable and secure cloud operations, driving efficiency and enabling automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures using services from major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, balancing cost-efficiency with high availability and reliability.
  • Deploy and maintain security measures that protect cloud resources and data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to create CI/CD pipelines for smooth and automated deployments.
  • Use monitoring tools such as Prometheus, CloudWatch, or Datadog to track performance and diagnose issues in cloud systems.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in cloud infrastructure and propose new tools or practices to improve system robustness.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, including services such as EC2, S3, Kubernetes, and serverless computing.
  • Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for automating cloud management.
  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices, including data encryption, IAM policies, and network security.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, CloudWatch, or Datadog for performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to align cloud infrastructure with business goals.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are highly desirable.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) to enhance deployment processes.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
