The engineer will need to follow up on reported errors and alarms, providing after-hours on-call support for production emergencies and escalating issues as necessary. A proactive approach is essential, as the engineer will analyze systems to identify root causes of issues and assess existing and new use case configurations. The role also includes maintaining and improving application and database monitoring, seeking systems improvements through regular performance monitoring and capacity analysis, and recommending system upgrades and hardening as appropriate.
