About the position

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Kenility is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in cloud technologies and soft skills to collaborate effectively within a team of developers, engineers, and designers. The engineer will focus on delivering high-quality products while ensuring the infrastructure is robust, secure, and compliant with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS.
  • Manage and optimize existing cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Utilize infrastructure as code principles to automate deployments and configurations.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure using tools like AWS CloudWatch and Datadog.
  • Implement logging solutions to ensure compliance and security best practices.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Address and resolve infrastructure-related challenges, particularly in the insurance sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or a comparable qualification.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code principles with hands-on experience using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Knowledge of logging solutions such as AWS CloudTrail or ELK stack.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Prior startup experience is beneficial.
  • Experience addressing challenges related to the insurance industry is a plus.
  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is advantageous.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is desirable.
  • Knowledge of serverless computing and experience with AWS Lambda and API Gateway is a plus.
