About the position

The Cloud- Linux Senior Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert, trusted advisor, and authority on cloud services. This role is integral to our cloud team, where the candidate will help define the tools, processes, and methods necessary for the development of systems that utilize both Private and Public clouds, including AWS and Azure. The primary goal is to support the enterprise organization's adoption of our managed cloud service offerings. In this position, the Cloud- Linux Senior Engineer will employ system analysis techniques and procedures, which include consulting with users to determine the specifications for hardware, software, or system functionalities. Responsibilities will encompass the design and implementation of customized technical virtualization solutions for clients, both in on-premise and public cloud environments. The engineer will be tasked with developing comprehensive cloud-based solutions that consider sizing, infrastructure, data protection, disaster recovery, and application requirements, as well as hybrid access to on-premise enterprise systems. Additionally, the role requires providing troubleshooting expertise for performance and other issues, developing AWS and cloud solutions for clients, and building and integrating Linux systems across various cloud platforms. The engineer will manage and perform V2C, P2C, and P2V migrations of systems for clients, ensuring that appropriate security and information assurance controls are integrated into solutions to meet the regulatory requirements under which the client operates. The Cloud- Linux Senior Engineer will also support Cloud Assured leadership in the continuous improvement of our solutions to maintain competitive advantages.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement customized technical virtualization solutions for clients in both on-premise and public cloud environments.
  • Develop complete cloud-based solutions considering sizing, infrastructure, data protection, disaster recovery, and application requirements.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise for performance and other issues.
  • Develop AWS and cloud solutions for clients.
  • Build and integrate Linux systems on various cloud platforms.
  • Manage and perform V2C, P2C, and P2V migrations of systems for clients.
  • Integrate appropriate security and information assurance controls into solutions to ensure accreditation based on regulatory requirements.
  • Support Cloud Assured leadership in continuous improvement of solutions.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of experience in Linux-based operating systems.
  • 4+ years of working experience in programming or scripting languages.
  • 5+ years working in Enterprise Environments with the ability to articulate Enterprise System Management lifecycles and controls.
  • Solution delivery expertise, preferably in AWS services.
  • Demonstrable Enterprise Architecture planning and design skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytic, organization, presentation, customer service, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to support network and system risk assessment and security planning and documentation.
  • Experience with clustering and Load Balanced Production RHEL environments.
