About the position

The Cloud Migration Lead (AWS) at CACI International is responsible for leading and optimizing the migration of systems into AWS across various programs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to manage a team, develop migration plans, and ensure the successful transition of cloud environments. The position emphasizes collaboration with AWS and internal teams to define strategies, advocate for best practices, and represent the company at industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day AWS migration activities, including developing customized migration plans and transitioning responsibilities to the program team.
  • Work directly with AWS and CACI Solution Architects to optimize cloud migration approaches.
  • Architect Cloud environments optimized for security and various operational capabilities.
  • Support capture activities as a technical SME, developing and reviewing technical approaches related to cloud migration.
  • Represent CACI at AWS conferences and customer briefings.
  • Champion AWS Cloud migration processes, defining architectural standards and governance processes.
  • Collaborate with end user teams to define technology migration strategies.
  • Perform Cloud Architecture reviews to ensure alignment with future state initiatives.
  • Advocate for effective architectural designs and optimize current architecture and processes.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, compliance issues, and other architectural concerns.
  • Ensure appropriate resources are allocated to complex production issues.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum activities, including sprint planning and testing.
  • Analyze project-related problems and create innovative solutions.
  • Define the baseline and direction of a Product baseline.
  • Manage a team of 3-4 engineers, providing guidance and tasking.
  • Develop the team's technical skills through mentoring and coaching.
  • Define and oversee technical and agile best practices within the team.
  • Advise senior leadership on investment opportunities related to AWS migration.
  • Collaborate with AWS to define customized training for programs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of overall technical experience in leading system design, project development, and production support of large applications/systems.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience migrating systems into AWS.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or similar/higher AWS certification.
  • Experience developing AWS-based Cloud Architectures and migration plans with appropriate justification.
  • Experience leading a highly technical team to complete tasks on schedule.
  • Experience working on complicated problems and providing creative solutions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
  • Understanding/Experience with Government Cloud Environments (e.g., Wild and Stormy, JWCC, C2E/C2S)
  • Experience supporting multiple AWS domains (IL2/IL4/IL5/IL6/ICD 503)
