Cloud Migration Specialist, Migration and Modernization

About the position

The Cloud Migration Specialist within AWS's Migration and Modernization team is responsible for driving customer engagement and facilitating large-scale migrations to AWS for enterprise clients in strategic sectors such as Telco, Media and Entertainment, and Financial Services. This role involves collaborating with various teams to develop migration strategies, deliver workshops, and ensure successful customer outcomes post-commitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a virtual team to drive customer engagement and identify opportunities for large-scale cloud migrations to AWS.
• Convey the value of the AWS Migration Acceleration Program to senior customer stakeholders.
• Engage senior customer technical and business decision makers on the benefits of migrating to AWS.
• Help customers develop business cases for migrating to AWS.
• Deliver workshops to assess current states and define future states for cloud migration plans.
• Build compelling proposals to achieve business value from migrations and create commercial agreements with customers.
• Log and track opportunities in the sales opportunity tracking system.
• Keep management updated on the status of the migration go-to-market in your assigned territory.
• Oversee customer migration success post-commercial commitment.
• Conduct customer briefings and present at customer and AWS events.

Requirements

• 7 years of experience in customer-facing roles leading large-scale transformation programs or extensive customer engagements.
• 5 years of relevant work experience in technology-enabled consultative, delivery, solutions, or business development roles focused on enterprises.
• 5 years of experience in cloud technologies with a deep understanding of public and hybrid cloud platforms.
• 7 years of experience developing, implementing, managing, and executing field programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Deep experience with shaping or leading large-scale application migration or rationalization projects.
• Experience with shaping or leading data center exit projects.
• Experience with shaping or leading major modernization projects (e.g., re-architecting at scale to adopt cloud-native practices).
• Deep industry experience in creating industry-focused value propositions and speaking at external industry events on IT transformation.
• Experience owning program strategy and end-to-end delivery.
• An MBA is highly valued, along with a technical background in Computer Science or Engineering/Maths.
