About the position

GovCIO is currently seeking a Cloud Network Engineer/Architect to support cloud networking and architecting solutions for our customers. This position is fully remote, with a travel requirement of approximately 10%. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering information about the capabilities of our products, investigating the technical capabilities of both our products and competing solutions, and staying updated on developments in hardware and software. The role involves generating quantifiable requirements based on customer descriptions, system planning, and design, ensuring compliance through formal verification methods. The Cloud Network Engineer/Architect will translate high-level product development strategies into detailed network and system requirement specifications, collaborating with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level implementation requirements. This position also entails establishing and coordinating the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to network and system development. The engineer will design interfaces and integrate network and system elements to ensure they function cohesively. Performance assessment will be conducted using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures, while also serving as a customer liaison to support business development activities and shape requirements. In addition to planning, designing, and installing equipment, the engineer will participate in system conceptual design and document the design concepts. Responsibilities include installing new hardware, systems, and software for networks, designing and building network services, and generating system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Monitoring system performance and implementing performance tuning are also key aspects of this role. The engineer will review test plans and procedures to ensure they meet contractual objectives and participate in the testing process to validate requirements. Furthermore, the role involves developing and analyzing existing administrative operations and management controls to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness, conducting assessments for compliance with regulations, and collaborating with stakeholders to modify resource documents as needed.
