About the position

The Cloud Network Architect/Engineer at GovCIO is responsible for supporting cloud networking and architecting solutions for customers. This fully remote position involves gathering information on product capabilities, generating requirements, and ensuring compliance through verification methods. The role also includes designing network interfaces, assessing performance, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information concerning the capabilities of Company products and investigates technical capabilities of competing solutions.
  • Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer descriptions and ensures compliance through formal verification methods.
  • Translates high-level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications.
  • Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures related to network and system development.
  • Designs interfaces and integrates network and system elements to function cohesively.
  • Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
  • Acts as a customer liaison and supports business development activities to understand and shape requirements.
  • Coordinates the planning, design, and installation of equipment using engineering and programming knowledge.
  • Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of design concepts.
  • Installs new hardware, systems, and software for networks.
  • Designs, creates, and builds network services, equipment, and devices.
  • Generates system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
  • Reviews test plans/procedures to ensure they meet contractual objectives and participates in testing to validate requirements.
  • Develops and analyzes existing administrative operations and management controls for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conducts assessments of documents for compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Identifies related policy documents impacted by reviews and updates of existing content.
  • Offers recommendations to retain, revise, or retire existing resource documents based on utilization and compliance metrics.
  • Defines technical and web content management requirements to improve management of resource documents.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and SMEs to modify resource documents and implement recommended frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience or commensurate experience.
  • Top Secret clearance required.
  • Must have or obtain IAT level II certification within 90 days of hire (e.g., CompTIA Security+(CE)).
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of DOD Security, RMF, and/or NIST Policies.

  • Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
