The Cloud Network Engineer (Azure) position at Navy Federal Credit Union is a critical role focused on maintaining technical expertise in Azure cloud networking. This includes working with virtual routers, firewalls, gateways, and other networking components. The engineer will be responsible for proposing solutions that meet communication requirements based on both current usage and future needs, while also optimizing for cost savings. This hands-on IT infrastructure role requires collaboration with various teams, including operations, vendors, and delivery teams, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this position, the engineer will deploy and configure Cisco Virtual Routers and CheckPoint CloudGuard Firewalls within cloud instances. They will also be tasked with troubleshooting network problems, installing patches, and maintaining accurate records of network changes. The role involves performing network management functions such as monitoring, maintenance, performance measurement, and reporting. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for updating network devices, preparing network documentation, and providing regular monitoring and analysis for in-house systems. Automation of routine tasks using scripting is also a key responsibility, along with participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking and network security, with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Desired certifications include Checkpoint CCSE and/or CCNA/CCNP. The role requires experience with Checkpoint firewall technologies, Azure cloud networking technologies, and various networking technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, and IP Address Management solutions. The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
