About the position

The Cloud Network Engineer Journeyman II position at ASRC Federal involves supporting cloud engineering efforts for the U.S. Army's cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on planning, designing, and maintaining cloud architectures while ensuring secure and efficient operations within various Cloud Service Providers (CSP) such as AWS, MS Azure, IBM, and Oracle. The position is remote with occasional travel to customer sites required, playing a crucial role in enhancing IT infrastructure and software capabilities for the Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and maintain cloud architectures.
  • Support cloud-based solutions within designated Cloud Service Providers (CSP).
  • Develop automation for routine cloud activities, including environment instantiation and software updates.
  • Produce system architecture, configuration, and software documentation for developed work products.
  • Evaluate operating environments and assist in obtaining Authority to Operate (ATO) under the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Deploy systems to a DoD Authorized Cloud Environment.
  • Create, maintain, and sustain Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or another Technical discipline.
  • 5 years minimum experience in cloud architecture, cloud software engineering, cloud security, cloud systems engineering, and cloud network engineering.
  • Experience supporting Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Cloud Access Points (CAP).
  • Experience in developing automation for routine cloud activities.
  • Experience producing system architecture documentation and configuration documentation.
  • Proven experience deploying systems to a DoD Authorized Cloud Environment.
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions.
  • IAT I Certification and full Information Assurance (IA) certification.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent.
  • Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of DoD security requirements and compliance (STIG/ACAS).
  • Knowledge of ERP SAP environments.
  • Understanding of AWS AppStream for application streaming and delivery.
  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps.
  • Experience working in an Agile Framework environment.
