About the position

The Network Engineer Sr Advisor position is designed for highly motivated engineers who will support the construction of a Multi-Cloud Ecosystem through a centralized Cloud Management Interface (CMI). This role involves designing, engineering, and implementing network requirements to enable CMI functionality, providing engineering support to multiple WAN connected sites, and ensuring compliance with IT project management and engineering lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, operate, manage and maintain network components for on-premises and cloud-based virtualized systems.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain (LAN, WAN, Wireless) network infrastructure.
  • Determine network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements.
  • Design, recommend and implement new solutions to improve the resilience of network operations.
  • Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems and outages.
  • Schedule updates and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with network architects to optimize system performance.
  • Engage in data network fault investigations.
  • Secure network systems with policies that define and monitor access.
  • Configure DNS servers and appliances.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience in network engineering and analytics.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Experience with networking protocols such as IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, and 802.11.
  • Familiarity with technologies and protocols including Ethernet, ATM, Frame Relay, PPPoE, STP, MPLS, and L2VPNs.
  • Ability to setup, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, and Riverbed devices.
  • Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cloud Service Routers (CSRv) and migrating legacy on-premises networking infrastructures to cloud-based networks.
  • Familiarity with cloud provider environments such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience with Juniper QFX Series Router, Forcepoint NextGen Firewall, Red Hat Ansible, and Azure Sentinel.
