About the position

The AWS Cloud Network Engineer will be a key member of the Enterprise Engineering Team, responsible for designing and providing engineering support to enhance data interoperability, integrity, and quality for systems within the USTRANSOM enterprise. This role involves leveraging AWS cloud services to create Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) capabilities, while ensuring compliance with DoD standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to support an Enterprise cloud environment.
• Install, configure, and manage various network devices and services.
• Ensure security and hardening of firewalls, switches, routers, and other networking components to meet DoD compliance.
• Provide senior enterprise-level support and ownership of network infrastructure technologies in a multisite environment.
• Configure and support networking for hybrid cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Manage the network firewall security platform, including operating systems, configuration, redundancy, planning, administration, and monitoring.

Requirements

• Secret clearance required to start.
• CompTIA Security+ or comparable IAT/IAM II/III certification required to start.
• 3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer with knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 network architecture or equivalent IT field preferred.
• Knowledge of AWS and AWS services is essential.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner credentialed within 2023/24 required to start.
• AWS SysOps Admin Associate certification is strongly preferred.
• AWS Developer Associate certification is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with GIT, Jenkins, JSON, and YAML is required.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytic tools is required.
• Intermediate experience in multi-cloud networking interfacing with physical network infrastructure.
