About the position

The Cloud Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining technical expertise in all relevant areas of Cisco networks, which includes hardware and software interconnection, interfacing, routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, and more. This position requires the candidate to propose solutions to management that meet communication requirements based on future needs and current usage, while also configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. The role is hands-on and situated within a dynamic and fast-paced IT infrastructure environment, necessitating close collaboration with operations, vendors, and delivery teams. The engineer will be expected to deploy and configure Cisco Cloud Service Routers (CSRs) and CheckPoint CloudGuard Firewalls within cloud instances, perform problem isolation and resolution of network issues, and maintain accurate records of network changes and patch/update levels. Additionally, the engineer will engage in network management functions such as monitoring, maintenance, performance measurement, and reporting, while also preparing necessary network documentation including operational instructions, policies, and procedures. Regular monitoring and network analysis will be required for both short- and long-range planning for in-house systems, and participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation is expected. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Deploys and configures Cisco CSRs (Cloud Service Routers) within cloud instances
  • Deploys and configures CheckPoint CloudGuard Firewalls within cloud instances
  • Performs problem isolation and resolution of network problems through troubleshooting and devising effective solutions
  • Installs patches and maintains accurate records of network changes and patch/update levels
  • Performs network management functions such as monitoring, maintenance, IA, performance measurement and reporting
  • Performs updates to network devices including firewalls, NIDS, switches, routers and crypto devices
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems
  • Participates in 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or 5+ years of experience in Networking, Network Security
  • Desired Certifications of MCSA/MCSE (Cloud Technologies), Checkpoint CCSE, and/or CCNA/CCNP
  • 3-5 years' experience in Checkpoint firewall Technologies, preferably Checkpoint R80.10
  • 1-2 years' experience with Azure cloud Networking technologies including VNETs, Express Route, User Defined Routes, Network Security Groups, Azure Load balancers, Application Gateways, Azure DNS
  • 3-5 years' experience with Networking Technologies: TCP/IP, STP, HSRP, NAT, QOS, SNMP, SYSLOG
  • Expertise in routing technologies (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Expertise in Security Technologies (IPS, Anti-virus, Anti-Bot, Proxy, Data loss Prevention, HTTPs Inspection)
  • Experience with IP Address Management (IPAM) solutions from Infoblox
