About the position

The Cloud Network Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the technology infrastructure and applications, both on-premise and in the cloud. Reporting to the CIO, this position involves administration, maintenance, installation, security, procurement, and planning of IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable support for all users. The role requires a strong understanding of cloud technologies and the ability to manage enterprise-size networks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration, maintenance, installation, and security of IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Work with the CIO for hardware, software, and technology service acquisitions.
  • Understand cloud-based technologies and assist in migrating on-premise assets to cloud environments.
  • Establish redundancy for critical network elements including internet circuits, firewalls, switches, and routers.
  • Communicate effectively with departments to recommend and implement solutions.
  • Manage and maintain services specific to enterprise-size networks such as SharePoint online and Office 365 components.
  • Maintain the reliability of LAN and WAN network components per SLAs.
  • Install, configure, and manage Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
  • Evaluate and participate in conversion, installation, and implementation activities for new hardware and software.
  • Manage Windows domain and file shares, with expertise in Group Policies.
  • Troubleshoot Ethernet, fiber, and Internet circuits, ensuring secure wireless access points and systems.

Requirements

  • MCSE certification
  • CCNA certification
  • Strong understanding of IT architectural concepts and design
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft virtual environments and cloud systems
  • Ability to manage and maintain enterprise-size networks
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, IP routing, and NATs
  • Expertise in securing Wireless Access Points and Windows systems
  • Knowledge of Secure Computing best practices including ISO 27001 and 27002 and NIST standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with high availability solutions including DFS, Microsoft Azure DRP, and Amazon Web Services
  • Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS concepts
  • Experience with patch management and system upgrades
