Corning is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This position is vital to our mission of inventing life-changing technologies through materials science. The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring and supporting network devices and solutions that align with Corning's technology standards, ensuring that the connectivity needs of our businesses are met effectively. The role requires advanced proficiency in cloud platforms and a strong background in infrastructure-as-code, particularly with tools such as Ansible and Terraform. The engineer will be expected to apply automation to all aspects of network cloud administration, enhancing efficiency and reliability in our operations. The Cloud Network Engineer will work within the global Information Technology (IT) function, which is dedicated to aligning IT with business strategy and optimizing processes through technology. This role involves a comprehensive understanding of multi-account and multi-region network topology and routing, as well as extensive knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud networking. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring network security through various techniques, including packet filtering and DDoS mitigation, while also leveraging scripting languages and automation tools to streamline operations. Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in technology and network engineering within a large enterprise environment, with at least 3 years focused on designing and developing cloud network solutions. A 4-year degree or equivalent experience is required. The position may require up to 30% travel, and the successful applicant must be willing to be on call for after-hours support as needed. This role does not support immigration sponsorship, and the salary range is between $93,889 and $129,098, depending on various job-related factors.
