About the position

The Cloud Network Engineer will be a key member of the infrastructure team at a faith-based financial consulting firm, focusing on enhancing and securing their cloud-oriented networks. The role involves working with a mix of on-premises and Azure-based servers, particularly emphasizing the use of Palo Alto firewalls. The engineer will contribute to multiple projects aimed at upgrading network security equipment and implementing network automation, as well as containerizing infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-based networking solutions, primarily within Azure.
• Manage and configure Palo Alto firewalls for both on-premises and Azure environments.
• Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Powershell, Python, and/or Bicep.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance network security and infrastructure.
• Participate in containerization efforts using Docker and Azure Kubernetes Services.

Requirements

• Experience with cloud-based networking, preferably in Azure.
• Strong network automation skills using Powershell, Python, and/or Bicep.
• Advanced knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and related equipment.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps methodologies and containerization practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field or relevant technical certifications.
• Alignment with the company's faith-based values.
• Experience with Docker and Azure Kubernetes Services.
• Experience with NextGen Palo Alto firewalls.
