About the position

The Cloud Network Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for cloud infrastructure within a global broadcast environment. This role involves ensuring operational continuity of broadcast feeds and maintaining uptime for related infrastructure equipment. The engineer will work with AWS services and be involved in troubleshooting and supporting multi-channel playout automation systems and media workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support of Cloud infrastructure for Global Playout Services.
  • Support multi-channel playout automation systems and media workflows, executing troubleshooting procedures as needed.
  • Understand and manage IP Network and Ethernet connectivity, including TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, VLANs, and multicast protocols.
  • Monitor and control system configuration to maintain a stable, reliable on-air product.
  • Manage signal routing control systems for video/audio and Video-over-IP signals.
  • Utilize Network Management Systems (NMS), SNMP MIBs, OIDs, and traps for network management.
  • Support multiple server types, configuring and troubleshooting Windows/Linux workstation/server applications and hardware components.
  • Create and utilize standard operating procedures, technical reference documents, and drawings.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments for optimal hardware/software configuration and support.
  • Ensure service levels are met by monitoring and updating incident tracking systems for timely resolution of critical issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience as a hands-on IT Engineer in a cloud-based environment.
  • Basic IT Networking knowledge including IP configurations and trace route.
  • Basic understanding of Cloud technologies, specifically AWS or similar.
  • Experience with remote troubleshooting using SSH, Telnet, or RDP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate to advanced level Networking, SAN, and/or other relevant training courses.
  • Knowledge of networking, firewalls, routers, Active Directory & load balancers.
  • Working knowledge of MPEG-4 encoders, MPEG Transport Stream analyzers, and satellite transmission equipment.
  • Preferred IT certifications such as CCNA, MCP, CompTIA A+/Network+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, or VMware Associate.
  • Preferred understanding of broadcast automation systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of serial digital broadcast equipment and measurement equipment.
