About the position

The Cloud Operations Associate position is an entry-level role designed for recent graduates who are eager to learn and develop their skills in cloud computing. The associate will manage and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams. This role offers hands-on experience and a solid foundation in cloud operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Cloud Environments (AWS/Azure): Utilize monitoring tools to track the health, performance, and availability of cloud resources on AWS and Azure.
  • Basic Instance Management: Learn to start, stop, and restart virtual machines (VMs) and cloud resources as needed, and perform basic troubleshooting under supervision.
  • User and Permission Management: Assist in creating and managing user accounts, roles, and access permissions based on established policies and guidelines.
  • Perform Backups and Data Recovery: Follow procedures to schedule, monitor, and verify automated backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Assist with Deployments and Configurations: Support basic deployment and configuration tasks on AWS and Azure, following detailed instructions from senior engineers.
  • Update and Maintain Documentation: Help maintain cloud-related documentation, including system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Implement Security and Compliance Policies: Adhere to cloud security best practices and assist in basic compliance checks, including user access audits and encryption reviews.
  • Routine Maintenance and Updates: Assist in performing regular maintenance activities, such as updating OS patches, managing storage, and cleaning up unused resources.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with application, infrastructure, and cloud onboarding teams to support cloud-based applications and services.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Basics: Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and services on AWS or Azure, including EC2, S3, IAM, VMs, and basic networking.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows operating systems, scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell), and networking fundamentals.
  • Willingness to Learn: Eager to expand cloud knowledge and take on new challenges.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of basic AWS/Azure training or certification.
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Terraform).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud consoles or lab environments.
