About the position

The Cloud Operations Manager at Pantheon Data will lead cloud modernization and transformation initiatives for Department of Defense (DoD) clients. This role focuses on managing cloud infrastructure, executing data migrations to AWS GovCloud, ensuring data security and compliance, and automating cloud operations to enhance efficiency. The position requires a strong background in AWS services and cloud operations, along with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize cloud resources.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage cloud resources on the AWS cloud platform, including EC2 instances and S3 buckets.
• Plan and execute cloud migrations from on-premise environments to AWS.
• Implement security best practices to ensure data confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
• Automate routine cloud operations tasks using scripting languages and AWS tools.
• Monitor AWS infrastructure for performance issues and troubleshoot incidents.
• Generate reports on cloud resource utilization and performance metrics.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years' experience supporting AWS cloud operations.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with AWS core services like compute, storage, networking, and databases.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems for managing cloud instances.
• Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools.

Nice-to-haves

• In-depth knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, CloudFormation, IAM, VPC.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred.
• Experience with Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts like VPCs and security groups.
