About the position

The Cloud Operations Specialist at HorizonIQ will play a crucial role in the daily operations of the data center, working closely with various teams including the Data Center Manager, Field Operations staff, Facilities Engineers, Sales Organization, Partner Sites, and Customers/Clients. This position is essential for ensuring that customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively. The specialist will be responsible for the physical installation of critical infrastructure components such as cabinets, cages, cables, shelving, cable management systems, routers, CSU/DSUs, servers, PDUs, modems, and switches. The role demands a strong focus on meeting customer expectations and achieving service intervals while adhering to the Internap Datacenter Operating Guidelines and Standards. In addition to the technical responsibilities, the Cloud Operations Specialist will be expected to work a flexible shift schedule and participate in a rotational on-call system that provides 24x7 support. This aspect of the job is vital for maintaining operational continuity and ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly, thereby minimizing downtime and enhancing customer satisfaction. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily customer requirements involving the physical installation of cabinets, cages, cables, shelving, and cable management systems.
  • Install and configure routers, CSU/DSUs, servers, PDUs, modems, and switches as needed.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met and service intervals are achieved.
  • Conduct overall site operations in accordance with Internap Datacenter Operating Guidelines and Standards.
  • Work flexible shift schedules and provide rotational on-call support 24x7.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in data center operations or a related field.
